7 Ways to spend Valentine's Day with your dog

It's going to be a different Valentine's Day this year.... Not being able to eat out, perhaps not being in a relationship or having difficulty getting out and about make Valentine's Day a little less exciting than usual! Don't worry, with a dog you can still make your Valentine very cosy. If you don't have a dog of your own, you can use Petbnb to take care of a dog. How fun is that! But, HOW do you make Valentine's Day cozy with a sweet four-legged friend?

  1. Create a dinner for you and your dog

Knock yourself out in the kitchen to prepare a delicious dinner for yourself and your four-legged friend. For example, make your dog's own dog food with chicken or rice for a change. Dogs are not allowed to eat everything, so be careful which ingredients you use.

2. Watch a movie with your dog

101 dalmatians? Lady and the Tramp? These movies become a lot more fun when you can watch them with a real dog! So throw on that TV/laptop/beamer and cuddle up!

3. Buy presents for your dog and wrap them all separately

A delicious pellet, a new rug, a funny toy... how happy your dog will be on Valentine's Day and therefore, of course, you will automatically be too!

4. Take a day trip with the dog

For example, go for a walk in the woods or on the beach. If you don't own a car, go for a long walk in the neighborhood. Take a toy with you and your day and that of your four-legged friend can't go wrong!

5. A clean dog on Valentine's Day

Treat your dog to a good bath or good shower and use a special dog shampoo and dog brush to do so. Not every dog can appreciate a good shower, make sure to keep it fun for both!

6. Give a dog massage

A dog massage is different from a massage for humans. Dogs love to be lovingly touched, so a sports massage is not recommended. Help your dog relax and cuddle some!

7. Create a musical playlist for your dog

Dogs love music, that's no lie. Preferably some laid-back or classical music. Hardcore will not make for a relaxing evening for your dog, so make sure to provide relaxing tunes for your four-legged friend. For example, test how he responds to certain songs. If he starts to feel sleepy and relaxed, you know the song can go in the playlist!
