- 'Easter egg' search
The classic activity during Easter is, of course, Easter egg hunts. But, I can hear you thinking. Easter eggs are extremely dangerous for dogs and cats, aren't they? Exactly! So we have come up with a variant that is completely safe and great fun to undertake with your four-legged friend. Instead of Easter eggs you can hide dog or cat treats in your house or garden. By the way, a good activity to get some exercise with the whole family.
One tip; break the snacks into some smaller pieces and then hide them. Of course, your four-legged friend is not supposed to eat himself sick or gain a few pounds during Easter!
2. Make an Easter basket
Fill a fun decorated Easter basket with all kinds of tasty and fun things for your dog or cat. For example, what you can put in the Easter basket: healthy snacks, a treat, a new toy or collar. You can think of all kinds of things to put in it. How grateful your four-legged friend will be to you!
3. Bake Easter cookies
Bake Easter cookies for your dog or cat! In previous blogs, we have shared recipes for dog and cat snacks. You can just use these recipes again for Easter. Make the snacks extra Easterly by using baking tins in the shape of Easter eggs, chicks or rabbits. You can find all kinds of different Easter baking molds on the Internet.
Bakers ready? Bake away!
4. Hiking
Take an extra long walk with your dog and enjoy the beautiful spring weather. For example, you can go to the beach or to the woods. You can clear your head for a while and your dog will be completely revived. Don't forget to bring a few extra treats to reward your dog for good behavior.
5. Playtime
Take some extra time to play with your dog or cat. Whether it's a game of soccer in the garden or a game of fetch in the park, your dog or cat will love having fun together. A great opportunity to find out if the new toy from the Easter basket is popular!
6. Schedule an Easter playdate with other four-legged friends
Your dog or cat obviously likes sociability from other four-legged friends too! So plan a playdate and invite his favorite friends. With cats, this is a little more difficult to organize. Maybe your cat also has a dog or cat friend, in which case you can invite the friend. Is that not the case? Then prefer not to take the risk. Cats do not cope well with changes and new dogs or cats in their home. They may become very stressed as a result.
