1. Tail
Is your dog always happy when he wags his tail?
If your four-legged friend is wagging his tail, it often means that he is happy is. For example, when you come home after a long day of work, you will probably see your dog wagging his tail very enthusiastically and happily. Your dog can wag his tail very quickly, sometimes it even looks like a propeller. When this happens, your dog is very happy to see you again!
However, wagging does not always mean that your dog is happy. If your dog is wagging in a stiff manner, this is a stress signal of your dog. He may react aggressively after this.
What do the attitudes of the tail tell us?
A medium tail means your dog is relaxed. A tail between the hind legs means that your dog is anxious or insecure. It may also mean that your dog is in pain or feeling uncomfortable/sick. A high tail means that your dog feels confident and tough.

2. Hair standing upright
What does it mean when your dog's hair stands up?
When your dog "brushes," his hairs stand up. This is a reflex that comes from excitement or tension. For example, if your dog is suddenly very startled, his hairs may stand up. You may have noticed it at a fireworks display! Another reason for the hair standing up is if your dog wants to impress. This often happens when your four-legged friend encounters another conspecific. Dogs do this in order to appear dominant and strong.

3. Yawn
Is your dog always tired when he yawns?
Just as with humans, dogs yawn because they tired are, but this is not always the case! For example, if a dog is anxious he may yawn a lot. You may have noticed that your dog yawns a lot at the vet. There is a scientific explanation for this. Yawning actually causes your dog's heart rate to increase, more blood to go to the brain and more oxygen to enter the lungs. This allows your dog to overcome his anxiety and stress.
Another reason your dog yawns is because he is adopting his owner's behavior. In fact, dogs are very empathetic. So as soon as you start yawning vigorously, your four-legged friend may also yawn. This means there is a strong emotional bond between you and your lovely four-legged friend!
