"An important tip for dealing with Vizslas is to teach them to stay in one place, as they tend to follow you constantly. In addition, it is helpful to calm their enthusiasm to promote a calmer interaction." - Emily

Is a Vizsla busy?

Vizslas are energetic and active dogs that love to be kept busy. They love spending time outdoors and are especially happy when they can run, run or play. A Vizsla's favorite activities include long walks, hikes, running and biking. Since Vizslas were originally bred as hunting dogs, they also have a keen sense of smell and love to explore their surroundings. Activities such as playing search games or working with nose work can enhance both their mental and physical stimulation. It is important that Vizslas receive adequate exercise and mental challenge to live a happy and balanced life.

What does a typical day with a Vizsla look like?

"We start by getting up, taking a walk, feeding him (which we like to do on the grass so he can sniff and be busy), and then we let him relax. We go to work, watch TV or do something while we sit, and he also lays down. Later we go for another walk, play, hide treats in the house or garden, take another walk, and then it's time for dinner. After dinner, we relax again so he can lie down, and before we go to sleep, we let him out once more. We also take lots of time to cuddle during the day 🙂 He loves that too! And we make sure he gets enough rest." - Mijke (Petbnb babysitter)

Can a Vizsla be home alone?

"Vizslas pay close attention to what you are doing. This can sometimes make them nervous and easily skittish. Therefore, they also need some peace and quiet around them. They can't be alone for long. And they need a lot of attention, or just being with you, sitting and cuddling. We treat them like they're part of the family." - Mijke (Petbnb sitter)
